How to Begin Participating in the ICT Skills Building Program
If you don't know what courses to take or want to browse the list of offerings:
- Click on the appropriate link for either ICT Professional or Program Worker.
- From the ICT Professional Home Page or the Program Worker Home Page, click Review the Course List and Prerequisites to view a list of classes offered, the prerequisites for the class, and the learning options for the class. You can see detailed descriptions of the classes by clicking the course titles.
- If you want suggestions about courses that will be helpful to you on your job, click Identify Your Training Objectives by Job Role on the ICT Professional Home Page or the Program Worker Home Page. This information will help you match your desired skills with course offerings that will help you develop those skills.
- Once you've viewed the course list or course description pages and have decided what course to take, click Register near the course title. This takes you to the registration portal allowing you to sign up for the class.
- View the class options, then click the check box next to the course you want to take and click Add to Cart to register. To complete your registration, you'll be directed to create a student profile (if this is the first time you've signed up for a class) or log in to an existing student profile.
- Upon registration completion you'll receive a follow-up e-mail telling you how to access your class.
If you know what courses you want to take:
- Click on the appropriate link for either ICT Professional or Program Worker.
- From the ICT Professional Home Page or the Program Worker Home Page, click on Register for Courses. This takes you to the registration portal where you can sign up for classes. Click on Course Schedule in the left hand navigation menu to search the schedule for the classes you're interested in and see what learning options are available: live classroom training, live online training led by instructors, or self-paced online training.
- View the class options, then click the check box next to the course you want to take and click Add to Cart to register. To complete your registration, you'll be directed to create a student profile (if this is the first time you've signed up for a class) or log in to an existing student profile.
- Upon registration completion you'll receive a follow-up e-mail telling you how to access your class.
If you want to sign up for live classroom training or live online training:
- Go to the Live Training Calendar page to view a list of upcoming live, instructor-led training, both in the classroom and online. You can view information about the class offerings, location and time, and click on links to more details.
- Once you've viewed the course description and have decided what course to take, follow the registration instructions. You will either see an e-mail address to send your request for enrollment via e-mail, or an active ìRegisterî link that will allow you to enroll using the registration portal.
If you want to find classes to help you earn a specific certification:
- Click on the appropriate link for either ICT Professional or Program Worker.
- From the ICT Professional Home Page or the Program Worker Home Page, click on Certifications to get more detail on certification requirements. This page offers links to a variety of resources that outline what you need to do to earn a specific certification.
- From the Certifications page, click on ICT Skills Building Course List to view a table that matches up the ICT Skills Building Program courses with the professional certifications they relate to. Click on course titles to view more detailed class descriptions.
- Once you've viewed the course list or course description pages and have decided what course to take, click Register near the course title. This takes you to the registration portal allowing you to sign up for the class.
- View the class options, then click the check box next to the course you want to take and click Add to Cart to register. To complete your registration, you'll be directed to create a student profile (if this is the first time you've signed up for a class) or log in to an existing student profile.
- Upon registration completion you'll receive a follow-up e-mail telling you how to access your class.
